On an island renowned for its superb vocalists and composers, John Holt still stands head and shoulders above the rest as one of Jamaica's sweetest singers and enduring songwriters. He has voiced and penned so many of the country's classics that in a way, Holt has defined the island's sound. Born in the Greenwich Farm area of Kingston, Jamaica, on July 11, 1947, the young Holt took his first steps into the music business via the talent show circuit. Talent shows have always had a massive popularity in Jamaica and the top ones were initially broadcast live on radio and later on television.

More than one artist named Pressure; 1. Pressure is a US Virgin Islands (St. Thomas) born reggae artist, who is currently getting heavy airplay from his single 'Love and Affection'. 2. LA/OC CA's Pressure are made up of members of the short-lived Fortunate Son and Try Harder and add a new twist to the Southern California hardcore scene. This 7" is six songs of rock and roll influenced hardcore punk with some influences taken from bands like The Hope Conspiracy's later work, Suicide File and even Unbroken.

B.B Seaton (Harris Lloyd Seaton) was born September 3rd, 1944 in Kingston, Jamaica. He is a singer with a soulful voice, a qualified musician, producer and one of the most prolific song writers in the history of Jamaican music. B.B started singing and writing songs from his high school days, and grew up listening to groups like Platters, Drifters, Temptations and the Four Tops to name but a few.

One of the first reggae artists to embrace dancehall, Sammy Dread (born: Stewart Farquaharson) has continued to take a hard-edged, roughhouse, approach to reggae. While he scored minor solo hits with "Talk It Over" and "Trying To Conquer Natty Dreadlocks", and an album, Stereophonic, recorded with Philip Frazer in 1980, Dread's best work has been produced in collaboration with such reggae artists as Sugar Minnot, Black Roots and InI Oneness. The title track of his 1995 album, Road Block, was covered by London-born and United States-based vocalist/rapper, Shinehead.
