Nuala Kennedy

Nuala Kennedy grew up in Dundalk, Ireland where she was a member of the ceilidh band Ceoltoiri Oga Oghrialla. In 1995 she moved to Scotland and she now lives near Kincraig in the Highlands. She is best known for her work with trio Fine Friday, with whom she has toured extensively and recorded two critically acclaimed CDs, "Gone Dancing" (2002) and "Mowing the Machair" (2004). There is more than one artist under the name of Jon Mills; 1) Singer-songwriter from Tunbridge Wells. 2) Banjo player with the Old Lone Gin Band in the Dover area. Bands that he has previously played with include Rainmaker (bluegrass band), Travel by Steam (ceilidh band), Five Bar Gate (ceilidh band), Tony Joe Marshall & Crowbait (country music band), and the Marshall-Mills Duo. He is also recorded on albums of Cornish music with Merv Davey (Pyba, and Forth an Syns), and on an album with Cornish songwriter, Graham Sandercock (Pol Pri).

Mohammad-Rezā Shajariān (Persian: محمد رضا شجريان) (born September 23, 1940 in Mash'had, Iran) is a legendary and critically acclaimed persian traditional singer, composer and Ostad (master) of Persian music. He has been called "Iran's greatest living master of persian classical music". In Persian classical Dastgah music, singing is the most difficult art to master and Shajarian is the embodiment of the perfect singer and a major source of inspiration. Shajarian is also known for his skills in Persian calligraphy, and humanitarian activities.

Jo Philby

Jo grew up in the south of England and ever since she can remember she heard folk music around her. She was encouraged to play music at school and went on to play classical flute. For many years her family holiday was spent at 'Sidmouth Folk Festival', so she was exposed to varied folk music at a young age. It wasn't until her late twenties that she developed a love for traditional Irish music after meeting Roger and friends, Sara and Les Daniels. Through this meeting Jo was encouraged to sing.

RASTAK

Rastak a new ensemble for contemporary Persian folk music was formed as an experimental music group in 1997. The group seeks to collect, record and interpret traditional Persian folk music for a global audience, incorporating language, culture and history also merging traditional instruments and forms with contemporary rhythms. The musicians who comprise Rastak have graduated from the best universities in Iran and have done extensive research into Persian folk music.
