British Metal

Gaskin

Gaskin's harmonized melodic vocal style set them apart from many their NWOBHM contemporaries, with their style being a bit more refined than the rough riffing associated with early 80's Brit metal. With the standout opening track "Sweet Dream Maker", the End Of The World debut ranks as the better of the two albums released before falling by the wayside alongside many other bands of the time. Many years later, founder/namesake Paul Gaskin recruited a new lineup and released Stand Or Fall in 2000, which coincided with their appearance at Wacken 2000.

Tysondog

Tysondog were a English heavy metal band formed in Newcastle, in the year 1983 during the NWOBHM boom. They quickly signed to Neat Records and issued their debut single 'Eat the Rich' that same year. 1984 saw their first full-length, 'Beware of the Dog,' which was produced by none other than Cronos of Venom. Cronos even perfomed backing vocals on the track "Demon" (listen for him in the chorus). An EP, 'Shoot to Kill' was released in 1985...

Slander

Slander was formed in 1990, following a last minute request from the Blackpool Gazette to make up the numbers for a local Rock Battle. Andy Saxon - Lamb and Steve Slater were given 24 hours notice to recruit musicians and rehearse their set. After rehearsing through most of the previous night, they hammered out a thirty minute set to an unsuspecting crowd. From the positive audience reaction it was clear that their brand of heavy metal was a winning formula. In late 1990 Slander’s "Fighting Talk" appeared on Radio 1’s Friday Rock Show’s "Rock Wars".

Sorcerer's Spell

Originally starting out as another excuse to avoid working, guitarists Paul Templing and Edd Dennis decided to start a project that they had drunkenly discussed on many an occasion. Inspired by various metal bands, Paul had written a number of songs which simply could not be contained within the privacy of his bedroom any longer. It was not until a fateful night of frantic air guitaring and yet more booze in the local rock tavern that they found a slightly inebriated Anthony “Trim” Trimming had appeared beside them.

Blue Murder

There is more than one artist with this name: 1) British hardrock band
2) Dutch guitarpop band
3) British folk group

1) Blue Murder was the hard rock brainchild of ex-Whitesnake and Thin Lizzy guitarist John Sykes.
