Jah Thomas

Jah Thomas was an important figure on the Jamaican music scene during both the roots era of the '70s and the subsequent dancehall decade of the '80s. Besides releasing several DJ sides of his own in the latter half of the '70s, Thomas also came into his own as one of the island's top producers for both singers and DJs. Many of these sides found their way to the dub studios of King Tubby, who transformed a wealth of Thomas' rhythms into a some of the best dub tracks to emerge from Jamaica.

Dillinger

There are at least 2 bands with the name Dillinger 1. Dillinger (born Lester Bullocks on January 25, 1953) is a prominent reggae artist. Dillinger was part of the second wave of DJ Toasters who sprung up around Jamaica during the mid 1970s. Inspired by Big Youth, U Roy, and Dennis Alcapone, Dillinger was known for his quick wit, humorous lyrics and vulgar content ("crab in my pants"). As a youth growing up in Kingston, Jamaica, Dillinger would hang around Dennis Alcapone's El Paso Setup. This exposure would eventually lead to a full time gig at Jackie's sound system.

Alpha Blondy (born Seydou Koné on January 1, 1953 in Dimbokoro, Côte d'Ivoire) is a reggae singer. He is a major star in West Africa. He has played with The Wailers. He studied English at Hunter College in New York, and later in the Columbia University American Language Program. Alpha Blondy sings mainly in his native language of Dioula, in French and English, and sometimes in Arabic or Hebrew. His lyrics convey strong political attitudes and a sense of humor. He coined the French word "democrature" (an English equivalent might be "democratatorship") to identify some African governments.

Third World is a Jamaican reggae group consisting of William 'Bunny Rugs' Clark (vocals), Steven 'Cat' Coore (guitar, cello, harmonica, vocals), Richard 'Richie' Daley (bass, vocals), Herbert Harris (Keyboard), and Tony Williams (drummer). They were formed in 1973 and are still releasing records today. Their lineup has changed over the years, as has their musical style, although it has not strayed too far from the "roots reggae" style that they are generally categorized as.

There are several artists with this name. 1. The Regulars was the former name of Reggae Regular. http://www.last.fm/music/Reggae+Regular 2. The Regulars were an indiepop act formed in 1996 in Birmingham, UK. The key line-up comprised Pete Green, Rob Harris, Paul Roach, Stu Fletcher and Chris Green. AL CAMPBELL

Al Campbell (born 31 August 1954, Kingston, Jamaica) is a Jamaican reggae singer active since the late 1960s. Biography: Campbell's singing career began in church, where his father was a preacher, and Al would sing to raise funds. He went to school with Lloyd James (aka Prince Jammy) and formed a vocal group with friends as a teenager, called The Thrillers, who recorded in the late 1960s for Studio One.
