Hjaltalín

The band Hjaltalín began as a one-act thing in the music scene of MH, a Reykjavík gymnasium that is renowned for harboring musicians. Things have evolved since then, personnel changed, and the band has actually changed course regarding musical styles in the meantime, although the band is certainly hard to categorize with influences ranging from modern indie rock to 60’s pop music to classical music. http://www.myspace.com/hjaltalinband

Hera

Icelandic singer/songwriter Hera has been living in New Zealand for about 10 years whilst cultivating and carving out a very successful career in her native land on the opposite side of the world. Not an easy task but one that was deservedly rewarded in 2002 when HERA was named Best Female Singer at that year’s Icelandic Music Awards, a major achievement for the young artist given that for the previous 10 years that category had been almost completely dominated by Bjork.

Bellatrix

Bellatrix were an icelandic rock group. The group was founded in 1992 in Keflavík as 'Kolrassa Krókríðandi' ("Blackassed motherfuckers") by four women, all aged sixteen: Eliza Geirsdóttir (vocals and violin), Sigrún Eiríksdóttir (guitar), Ester Bíbí Ásgeirsdóttir (bass guitar) and Birgitta Vilbersdóttir (drums).
The band released the mini-album "Drápa" ("Slaughter") in 1992.
In 1994, they released "Kynjasögur" ("Family Stories") with Anna Margrét Hraundal (guitar) and Karl Ágúst Guðmundsson (trumpet and keyboard) replacing Birgitta.

Leaves

1) Leaves is an Icelandic indie band which came to prominence in 2002.
Icelandic indie band Leaves will release it’s third album this spring. The album called We Are Shadows will be available through download and mail order on May 11th. Four years in the making the album sees the band develop their sound and songwriting even further.
Formed early in 2001 the band has an interesting story to tell.
