Imagination

Imagination were a three piece soul music band from the United Kingdom in the early 1980s, sometimes described as Britain's first black supergroup. They had chart hits in 28 countries, earning four platinum discs, nine gold discs and over a dozen silver discs between 1981 and 1983. The band consisted of:
* Leee John was born John Lesley McGregor in Hackney, London, on 23 June 1957, of St Lucian descent. He was educated in New York, later studying drama at the Anna Scher Theatre School.

JD Twitch

aka Kelvin Bridge, aka Mount Florida (one half of), a(ctually)ka Keith McIvor......is one of the two DJ's that founded Optimo (espacio) which runs on Sunday nights / Monday mornings at the Sub Club (Glasgow). Previously he was the resident DJ at the legendary Pure in Edinburgh, a club started with his former partner, behind the decks, Brainstorm. JD Twitch is responsible for a multitude of edits and reworks on a number of tracks that are used almost exclusively for his DJ sets. A pioneer of using Ableton Live software to enhance and expand on the two turntables and a mixer set up.

Stephen Hay

Stephen Hay is young singer/songwriter from the Bay of Islands, New Zealand. He learned music from an early age, taking piano lessons in Whangarei from the age of seven but generally neglected his practice for improvisation. When his family moved to Kerikeri in 2001 he taught himself drums, and started taking music classes in high school the following year to enable him to get drum tuition. It was through music classes he made friends with guitarists, and started to learn jazz chords and strumming.

Peven Everett

Peven grew up listening to Gospel, Jazz, Soul, and African rhythms, which greatly shaped his musical style. Peven Everett, was born and raised in Harvey, IL and has three siblings. Peven's career began at the age of 3. He remembers playing the bongos and using a phone book to reach the piano keys in order to play. The first song he ever played on drums was "Mister Magic" by Grover Washington Jr. when he was 4. Peven comes from a very musical family - all singers.

Georgia Anne Muldrow

Georgia Anne Muldrow is a singer, producer, songwriter born and raised in Los Angeles, California. Her father an instrument inventor for Eddie Harris and her mother, Rickie Byars, a singer with the Pharoah Sanders Ensemble. Still in her teens she relocated to New York where she lived briefly and recorded seven songs for her 2005 self-released EP, “Worthnothings”. Many in the independent scene first got wind of her after she collaborated with the Platinum Pied Pipers on their much celebrated debut "Triple P".

Jaleel Shaw

Jaleel Shaw, alto saxophonist grew up in Philadelphia, PA, where he was surrounded by a enormous family of jazz musicians that Philadelphia has to offer. He studied with many of the strong jazz educators there, including Rayburn Wright, Robert Landham, and Lovette Hines – who is largely responsible for having nurtured the talents of Bassist Christian McBride, Organist Joey Defrancesco, Drummers Johnathan Blake & Ari Hoenig, Vocalist Bilal, Trumpeter Daud El-Bakara, and keyboardist Kamal of The Roots through his youth ensemble that is still going strong today.

The Lorelei

The Lorelei formed in 1990 in a garage in Dyce with Jonny and Beefy being original members along with Martin Watson, the original singer. Over the next 2 years The Lorelei settled on a line up which apart from John.S.Martin, The Lorelei’s new frontman, remains to this day.
After being selected by M8 magazine to feature on a free tape of Scottish unsigned talent, The Lorelei were offered a 2 album deal with Lochshore records. The Lorelei went on to record their 2 albums “Headstrong” and “ Progression”.

Bijoumiyo

Bijoumiyo have taken giants strides since first appearing on the streets of hometown Cambridge late summer 2006, armed with little more than our instruments, a handful of batteries and a megaphone. Performing material which is virtually all improvised, our collective influences blend a fresh mix of progressive rock, soul, jazz and funk. The way the band performs live is considered unique, in that the energy created by the audience actually feeds our creative force and actively dictates the evolution of the music itself.
