This Scottish band published two albums on Silvertone records in 1993. Their self-released swan song album Hung Like Jesus disappeared from general release almost as soon as it had been released. The album recorded in as a trio (Gordon Grahame, Richard Buchanan and Gavin Smith) has a bit rougher edge to it than the previous country-tinged albums. The Bastards of Fate formed in 2006, and toured for almost 5 years before finishing their first LP, called "Who's a Fuzzy Buddy?" which was released in March 2012 on This Will Be Our Summer records. The album has received mostly positive, though sometimes baffled coverage from outlets such as Vice, Consequence of Sound, Drowned In Sound and Clash, as well as hype from Everett True's Collapse Board, which has featured the band on numerous occasions.

Band founders Patricia Day and Kim Nekroman first met when Day's now-defunct band, the punk rock group Peanut Pump Gun, opened for Nekroman's psychobilly band, Nekromantix, at a festival in Cologne, Germany in 1996. Despite both belonging to the subculture scene of Copenhagen, Denmark, the two had never met before, but they became friends over their mutual interest in alternative music. The two would eventually marry.
