Partition

Check out our music at Thebandpartition. Partition are from London. We began in 2001. We are proud of our influences but struggle to pin our music down to a particular genre. Lo-fi certainly. Most people would call us 'indie' but we see this as more of a description of our approach (running our own record label) than a type of music. We are fed up of hearing about indie, or 'indy'?!, bands signed to major record labels.

Condition: Dead

Condition: Dead was formed in December 2007 by Alex, ( Al Symers ) formerly vocalist for Kents S.O.R.B. and London's Refuse/All. After quitting Refuse/All in March 2007, for several reasons, many other band members coaxed him into carrying on in the movement. 'There's not many of us left' is one remark which springs to mind, that made him decide to carry on. So the decision was to join an existing outfit that needed his services, or start a fresh.

The Ukrainians

The Ukrainians is a band formed by British musicians of Ukrainian descent. They adapt Ukrainian folk music (as well as Western pop) into a mostly acoustic high-energy style that fuses punk and folk, much as The Pogues did for Irish traditional music. They were formed after British indie band The Wedding Present recorded BBC radio sessions of Ukrainian folk songs between 1988-1991. This came about because Weddoes guitarist Peter Solowka was of Ukrainian origin.
