Gojira

Gojira is a progressive death/thrash metal band from Bayonne, France. Their lyrics consist of life, ecology, and spiritual themes. They were formed in 1996 by brothers Joe Duplantier (vocals and lead guitar) and Mario Duplantier (drums), Christian Andreu (guitar) and Jean-Michel Labadie (bass guitar). They had initially named their group Godzilla, but due to legal constraints had to change their name.

Fidelity

Fidelity (ex-Blasphemy) are a unique Progressive Death / Groove metal band from Israel. The band was formed on late March 07, by Roi Avni, Daniel Zaks and Guy Wolfus.
During the first year of their activity, Fidelity wrote their title song "Blasphemy" and the following "Hymn For The Fallen", although there were lots of line-up changings. Eventually, Chen Sasson was brought in on the drums, mostly helping the songs to shape into a more solid, clear, and tight structure, and Fidelity performed their first critical show, that led to replacing the former lead vocaler bringing Ophir Uzan in.

Revenant

There are at least 7 bands named Revenant: 1. Death/thrash U.S. band from late 80's/early 90's that at times featured members from Immolation and Incantation. Recorded a few demos, but only one full length called Prophecies of a Dying World, as well a couple of ep's. Split up during the mid 90's, yet made an attempt at reforming 2002 to release an ep only to split up again. 2. Revenant is a Thrash / Power / Speed Metal band from Hessen, Germany. One of the members ( Eric "Kalli" Kaldschmidt ) is in Abandoned.

Atheist

Atheist is a progressive death metal band from Sarasota, Florida, USA and regarded as one of the main developers of Floridian death metal. Their music is highly technical and sometimes reminiscent of jazz, combining brutal riffs with subtle latin music arrangements. They were founded in 1984 under the name Oblivion by guitarist (and later vocalist) Kelly Shaefer and drummer Mark. Mark was later replaced by drummer Steve Flynn because Kelly and Steve had similar musical tastes. Roger Patterson would later join as their bassist.

Dead Letter Opener

Formed in early 2005 in Brisbane, Australia. Dead Letter Opener met whilst they were studying music and technology at a Brisbane University, and initially formed the group to complete a recording project imperative to two of the members studies. The potential of becoming a full-time was realised almost immediately and DLO set out to finalise their debut EP and secure national distribution for it. Managing to record and produce the entire EP as a band with help from a friend from University, who is now their full-time live sound engineer...

Hexxed

Hexxed hail from Northern Ireland, a grim patch of dirt on Europe's most western landmass. Guitarist Owen Boden founded Hexxed in '96 with drummer Gerard Bentley; in early '00 the lineup comprising also bassist Gerard Richie and guitarist Ciaran Tracey, previsouly of NI death/gore stalwarts Abbattoir recorded the "Perish the Sacred" demo, whose music was characterised mainly by influences from Immolation, Incantation, Death and Morbid Angel. Arcturus

Arcturus is an band from Oslo, Norway featuring many prominent members of the Norwegian black metal scene from bands such as Ulver, Dimmu Borgir, Mayhem, Borknagar, The Kovenant, Emperor, and Winds. Arcturus have experimented throughout their career, extracting influences and incorporating elements from all over the musical spectrum including black metal and classical music, but the core of their sound has always been metal.

And Hell Followed With

And Hell Followed With was an American deathcore band. The group formed in Detroit, Michigan in 2006 and split in 2010 eight months after the front man Nick Holland announced he would be parting ways with the band. As of 2012 the band announced that they would play one last show at The Jamboree in Toledo, OH. They've stated that there are no plans to ever play another show. They released two full-length albums before their disestablishment.

Pessimist

There are at least 3 acts who are using or have used the name Pessimist; 1: a blackened death metal band from the USA, 2: a German thrash metal band and 3: a Czech progressive death metal band. 1. Pessimist (USA) formed in Baltimore, Maryland in 1993 and are recognizable for their unique brand of technical black / death metal with old-school thrash influences. The original lineup of the band included founding members Kelly McLauchlin (guitars), Rob Kline (vocals), and brothers Chris and Tony Pernia (drums and bass, respectively).
