Muha

MuHa is a well-known chill-out Nottingham based band that has planted it’s New Roots from Eastern Europe music in the heart of the East Midlands, UK. It formed in 2004, when Iryna Muha, a Ukrainian born singer and songwriter, moved to England from New York and met Dmitry Fedotov, Latvian rock legend. Whilst playing Slavonic rooted music, MuHa brings the most from a versatile world music scene in the UK by experimenting with layering and mixing sounds of different traditions into one piece, reflecting the national landscape of the modern Britain.

Mirageman

Hiding behind the Mirageman name was in fact pianist and composer Giovanni Fenati, who released a series of five (but some sources mention a sixth title) library albums between 1969 and 1972 on the Ariston label. At least four known singles were taken from these albums. Most of this keyboard-led instrumental production has little connection with progressive music, as demonstrated by the album titles, Per voi giovani and Alto gradimento were popular radio programs, and the albums were more in the easy listening/lounge music style.

HDQ

HDQ started out playing political Hardcore Punk in the latter half of the 80's, much similar to bands like Anti-System, Anihilated, Insurrection etc, and they released the Hung, Drawn & Quartered 12" in 1985 as well as featuring the song "Take Control" on the "Relying On Us" 7" compilation with bands like Oi Polloi and Stone The Crows.
Later they started playing a more arty\grunge kind of music, which is not so strange as 3 of the members were in Leatherface as well.

Artist Type:

Olympians

Two bands have shared this name. Olympians are four strapping young men from Norwich who play exhilarating sing-along math pop. Risen from the ashes of a more punnily named former incarnation, they are now Daniel (guitar keyboard), Christopher (bass), Ed (drums) and Benjamin (guitar, keyboard and trumpet). They all sing, as much as possible.
Olympians were also a late 1960s - early 1970s Greek pop music group.

Kastaphor

Kastaphor are a group of like minded people with their own unique vibes, which has melded to form a sound that is hard to pinpoint. Rob (guitar), Ged (bass) and Karl (drums) have been together since 2007, working both with singers and as an instrumental outfit. In August 2009, Emma (vocals) answered an online ad, auditioned and immediately became an integral part of the band. Songs and arrangements have flowed so easily that a debut album has been recorded and is slated for early 2010 release. The band are keen to get out on the road and gig these songs.
