Gareth Hardwick

Based in Nottingham, United Kingdom, Gareth Hardwick creates music that is at once rich and minimalist, dense and subtle. By manipulating the natural tones of his guitar with effects and loops he can deform and reshape the sounds generated by his instrument until you're no longer sure what you're hearing - an organ, a voice, or no recognisable instrument. Between abstract sounds, fragile and delicate melodies reveal themselves to you; finding yourself lost in intricate textures you are suddenly awoken by an absence of structure or sound, of something that one can hold on to.

Artist Type:

Blank Realm

Blank Realm is a rock band out of Brisbane. They “create a levitating atmosphere built on improvisations that focus sharp into excellent, tuneful songs (Brian Turner – WFMU)”. The band is composed of 3 siblings and a spiritual brother who share a love fine dining, and even finer selections from their well-stocked humidor.

Artist Type:

Friends Electric

Friends Electric’s infectious electronic-pop persuaded Frankmusik to snap them up for support, rising through the ranks with remixes for Kelis and Ellie Goulding. They recently headlined the BBC Introducing Stage at Radio 1’s Big Weekend, had their singles playlisted on XFM, and recorded live sessions for BBC Radio 1 & 2.

Following
Radio 1-supported singles Golden Blood and Something You Should Know comes Fireworks. A clattering, chattering electro-pop beauty that not only confirms Friends Electric's promise but also signals their deadly serious intent. Fireworks is already sounding like a future classic of the genre, underpinning the dancefloor-filling euphoria of its chorus with a brooding and inescapable melancholia, and positioning the band as natural heirs to Pet Shop Boys and The Postal Service

Tiedye

Tiedye was formed during nights of bikemoshing, slowdancing and wierdsailing. Two guys form the heart of this obscure and obvious formation of what we call the band Tiedye.
From the rocks and waves of the west coast of Sweden Tiedye explores and develops the sounds of dreaming disco, windblowing pop and gruy

Artist Type:

Vile Electrodes

Vile Electrodes initially formed through a mutual affection for early synthpop, delta blues, rock n roll and miserable indie bands, but their sound has probably been equally influenced by fetish porn, crap dead-end jobs. And an unhealthy obsession with analogue synthesizers. They began as a duo, have picked up and lost various people along the way and now exist as a 2/3/4 piece (in terms of human content) according to the time of day, the direction of the wind and the position of the stars. Band members may or may not consist of the following:
