Rob spent many days recording & performing as a drummer & programmer in bands in Nottingham & Newcastle upon tyne. TRS-80 was formed in Chicago in 1997 by Jay Rajeck and Kent Rayhill, two friends who had been writing music and performing in bands together since they were in high school. The two were drawn to electronic music in the mid 90's due to its experimental nature and unconventional possibilities. There are at least three artists with the name Subs. 1) An up-and-coming Belgian electro outfit; see The Subs 2) At the centre of the China’s burgeoning rock scene is Beijing, and at the centre of the capital city’s rock scene is another Subs, whose screaming garage-punk rock is the most sought after live experience in the country. Subs have risen quickly through the rock ranks based on their riotous live sets that are explosions of pure energy rare to the Middle Kingdom.
There are at least eight artists with the name Matrix: 1. Matrix is the pseudonym of London based drum and bass producer and DJ Jamie Quinn. Quinn started his musical career as one half of drum and bass duo Turbosound, who signed to DJ SS's F Project Records label, an offshoot of Formation Records. Their name was changed for them to "International Rudeboys", which while it perhaps didn't suit them as well as they would have liked, nonetheless this brought further success on Formation Records proper.
As a member of Kompakt since the early 90s, Reinhard Voigt has been a key player in the development and subsequent success of this legendary Cologne-based record label. Taking early notes from his infamous older brother Wolfgang Voigt (aka Mike Ink), Reinhard has refined and re-tooled his sound in a direction that has become unmistakeably his own in it's dirty, subversive (yet charming) minimal techno pop.
