Laura Jean

Melbourne-based Laura Jean has been gracing Australian stages for many years. Invitations to share them have come from overseas artists such as Mark Kozelek (ex-Red House Painters) Richard Buckner, M. Ward, Faun Fables, Tuck and Patti, and Australian acts like Augie March, Ben Lee, Claire Bowditch, Machine Translations, Gaslight Radio, and Sarah Blasko. Her first E.P, 'The Hunter's Ode' (2003) was embraced by community radio and street press across the country, as well as Triple J. The title track is apparently still sometimes heard late at night.

Dirt Farmer

There are at least two bands who perform under the name Dirt Farmer (1)Dirt Farmer is a rock band based out of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.
Roll up your swag. Dust off your denim. Burn your banjos and start a rock and roll band. That’s what Dirt Farmer have done. Hailing from Albury-Wodonga, the five-piece band have relocated to Melbourne. Formed in April 2010, brothers Stuart and Thomas Barlow, with friends Chris Wright, Nic Duplex and Patch Oram, met in high school and united over musical tastes.

Lacey

Lacey formed in 2007 in Perth, Western Australia. In April of 2009 they released their first CD - a double A-side single - Hard to Tell/Whip. Both tracks quickly reached the top 30 of the triple J unearthed charts and remained up there for a number of weeks peaking at 2 and 4 on the indie charts. Lacey have their second release Distractions Single at Amplifier bar, 29th January, 2010, and are hopeful of their third release coming out around August 2010.

Missy Higgins

Missy Higgins (born Melissa Morrison Higgins on August 19, 1983, in Melbourne, Australia) is one of Australia's most popular female singer-songwriters. Missy (Melissa) was thrust into the limelight in her homeland when her sister entered Missy into a competition, which she won. The competition was conducted by the national alternative broadcaster, Triple J. Although she was still in high school, her song All For Believing quickly became one of the station's most requested tracks of 2001.

Philadelphia Grand jury

Philadelphia Grand Jury are an Australian duo from Sydney, New South Wales that formed in 2008. The band consists of Joel Beeson (aka MC Bad Genius) on bass, keyboard and guitar and Simon Berckelman (aka Berkfinger) on vocals and guitar. They play indie, punk and soul. The Philly Jays has always been two friends: Berkfinger and MC Bad Genius. Between these two childhood buddies of some 20 years one observes a strange, tedious and sometimes very complicated relationship that always manages to somehow end up in a smart and ruff pop song. Do they even like each other? No one really knows.
