thelightshines is a solo artist who has been based in both Manchester and London. Influenced by drone, psychedelia, folk, experimental, arabic and south asian music, thelightshines makes extensive use of loops when playing live. Comparisons have been made between him and early Spiritualized as well as eastern influenced 1960's psychedelia. see
