The Triumphs

The Triumphs, an instrumental precursor group to Booker T & The MGswere assembled in 1961 by producer/songwriter Chips Moman in Memphis TN. He recorded recorded them at Stax headquarters in the old Capitol Theater on McLemore Avenue. They were the first release for the Volt label. and they were also apparently the first inter-racial group in the then segregated city. Joining Moman on guitar duties was Booker T Jones on Hammond organ, Lewie Steinberg on bass and drummer Howard 'Bulldog' Grimes, who later would go on to anchor Hi-Records rhythm section.

Martin Turner

Born in Torquay on October 1st 1947, Wishbone Ash's founding member Martin Turner began playing guitar at the age of fourteen, before switching to bass. Together with his brother Glenn he formed his first band the Torinoes in 1963. The Torinoes soon built up a respectable reputation in their local area, playing covers of the hits of the day. By 1966 the band had evolved into the Empty Vessels and Glenn and Martin were joined by drummer Steve Upton. In 1969 the band turned professional and relocated to London.

MOTO stands for Masters Of The Obvious. Pretty much it's Paul and whoever is playing with him at the time. Some people think Paul's lyrics are too dirty but most people think they are funny. MOTO write songs that are catchy. That's all that really matters. It all got started in the early 80's in New Orleans. But then Paul moved somewhere else. MOTO have released dozens of albums, some cassette only, some CDs, some are little vinyl discs like this one. You've probably never heard of MOTO. It's a good thing that now you know.

Evanescence

Evanescence is a grammy-winning band founded in Little Rock, Arkansas, United States in 1995 by singer/pianist Amy Lee and guitarist Ben Moody (who left in 2003). After recording private albums, the band released their first full-length album, Fallen, in 2003, which sold more than 15 million copies worldwide and helped the band win two Grammy Awards. A year later, Evanescence released their first live album, Anywhere But Home, which sold more than one million copies worldwide.

Asaf Avidan

Asaf Avidan is without a doubt, the biggest Israeli sensation since Idan Reichel back in 2003. 28-year-old Avidan is a folk singer/songwriter; His vocal - sounding very much like the legendary Janis Joplin - is unmatched; and he sings primarily in English. "A genius... A new Messiah" (Rolling Stone Mexico) and
"The most interesting voice in the Israeli music scene"
are just some of the accolades he has received.
He nowdays tours and records with his band, The Mojos.
