Fishboy

Fishboy is a four-piece eccentric indie pop band from Denton, TX that began as the bedroom solo project of front man Eric Michener. He was given the nickname on a middle-school field trip after a dare to pluck and swallow a fish at the Dallas World Aquarium. Six years and several shoe boxes full of cassette tapes later, Michener moved from the suburbs to the Texas rock-and-roll Mecca of Denton with a handful of low budget recordings released by the close-knit Austin music collective Business Deal Records.

Jasmin

With a name as elusive as the melodies that just hint in order to vanish, jasmin’s songs are revealing the possibilities of a minimal guitar trio. Sometimes jointly, sometimes in fierce competition, guitar, bass, drums and minimal electronics are spinning enticing textures. Those pleadings against the imperative of lyrics, you don’t have to call them post rock if you don’t want to. The deliberation annihilates itself by its sheer sustainability: On stage the guitarist frequently collides with the solid wall of bass and drums, disrupting it in feedback fever.

A classic education

A Classic Education Amongst four blazing nights between Xmas 2006 and the year of 2007, A Classic Education recorded 3 songs in the middle of the mountains of centre-north Italy. Jonathan Clancy, Paul Pieretto & Luca Mazzieri played a myriad of instruments, adding layers over layers, to create a dense orchestral ecstatic liberation of their souls. Most off all this was done at night, wind blowing and dogs outside barking away. For one short moment "The Blazing World" is what glued everything together...a second later it was just A Classic Education.
