There is more than one artist with this name. 1. An Atlanta indie/alternative/pop/sometimes-instrumental group formed in 1996. Generally performed live as a two-person multi-instrumental duo with sequenced backing tracks. At least two cds released, with several EPs as well. 2. A techno band with a 10-song cd entitled The Chain. Not too much info here yet; please contribute if you can!

There are at least two bands by the name of Sparta. 1. An American alternative rock band active in the 2000's
2. A British metal band active in the 1980's
1. Sparta is an band which formed in El Paso, Texas in 2001. The band originally consisted of Jim Ward (vocals), Paul Hinojos (guitar) and Tony Hajjar (drums), all former members of At the Drive-In. After a brief stint with Erick Sanger, the three of them recruited Matt Miller, an El Paso native and then-bassist of Belknap to become the band's permanent bassist.

Reverend & The Makers

Reverend (aka Jon McClure) hails from the musically-renowned land of # Sheffield, UK. Before this project he sang for Judan Suki and 1984 finding underground local fame and getting a name for himself. He has already collaborated with Arthur Brown, John Cooper Clarke, Tim Hampton (Bromheads Jacket), Mike Hughes (Trap2), Chris McClure, Laura Manuel (ex Judan Suki), Andy Nicholson (ex Arctic Monkeys), Tom Rawley (Milburn), and Alex Turner (Arctic Monkeys) as well as working with producer Alan Smythe.

Observe & Control

Observe & Control was created by Tom Cohen (aka Gnuth) in 2002, in Tel-Aviv, Israel.
Originally formed under the name of Xanthippe, the project's current name is inspired
by the works of French philosopher Michel Foucault.
The band is, in reality, a one man project, with Tom composing, singing and producing
the songs while the Lyrics are written by Iris Idelson. In "Utopia", O&C have attempted to merge together danceable melodies with thought-provoking concepts.

Death to spies

A rising talent in Manchester that's been around for a couple of years on and off but we're seeing more of them these days. Death to Spies have a unique sound that's easily danceable and lots of fun. The lead singer Kevan Hardman has an extremely dynamic voice at times choosing to sing for a couple of songs in a beautiful falsetto style (a bit Jimmy Sommerville), backed with haunting vocals by guitarist Andrew Fidler.

Shea Seger is an American singer-songwriter born in Fort Worth, Texas. With a voice that at times recalls the delicate vulnerability of Olivia Newton John, the sultry swagger of Sheryl Crow, the direct irony of Ani DiFranco, and the willowy keen of Tori Amos, Shea Seger debuted in October 2000 with the British release of The May Street Project. Positive press there predated the album's summer 2001 release in the U.S. by RCA.

Alaska in Winter...
• is aka Brandon Bethancourt
• is originally from New Mexico
• spent half a year in Alaska out in a cabin in the woods recording music during the winter of 2004... hence the name
• later traveled Eastern Europe in search of dance parties
• finally released its 'debut', "Dance Party in the Balkans"which featured a young Zach Condon (Beirut) in the summer of 2007 on European label Regular Beat
• has many unreleased recordings prior to "Dance Party..."
