The Screening
Leicester Power Indie Pop Punksters 'The Screening' are Tom Nurse (lead vocals/rhythm guitar), Tom Lewitt (lead guitar/backing vocals), James Dunn (bass) and Owen Ross (drums). The past 18 months has seen The Screening's international fan base increase considerably, with 2 U.S. tours in March & October 2007, including a sold-old showcase at South by South-West, a headline UK tour in early 2008, along with the release of 'Diem' on Tokyo's 'Vinyl Junkie Recordings' and the feature of 'Fall to Pieces' in the new Jean Claude Van Damme blockbuster, 'The Shepherd, Border Control'.
Devendra Banhart
Devendra Banhart (Born 30th May 1981 in Houston, Texas, but brought up in Venezuela) is a folk singer-songwriter whose first few records were released on the young god records label from New York City. His most recent CD was released by Warner Brothers. He is one of the most popular artists to come out of the "new weird america" movement, which includes performers such as Faun Fables, Viking Moses, Jack Rose, Jana Hunter, Arborea, The MV & EE Medicine Show, Currituck Co., Six Organs of Admittance, and The Royal We, among others. He also often joins the band known as Vetiver.
Paul Heaton
Paul David Heaton (born May 9, 1962) is an English born singer and songwriter. He was a member of The Beautiful South, and a former member of indie band The Housemartins, who disbanded in 1988. Paul Heaton formed The martins in the early 1980s. The Housemartins released a number of singles and two studio albums, London 0 Hull 4 and The People Who Grinned Themselves to Death. Their most famous hit was an a-capella version of the Isley Brothers' Caravan of Love, which was a Christmas number one in the UK.
The Cleaners
The Cleaners is a brazilian indie band formed in 2005, consists of Rodrigo (Milk) (vocals/guitar), Duka Olimazzi (drums), Joseph (guitar) and Rodrigo (bass). They recorded a demo with two songs, "All I Do" and "Love Yourself", this last, was re-recording for the “Cactus Jack band”, a local band… In 2005, after many changes, the band starts to play on some festivals, winning the 1º Wizard Rock Festival and the 3º Objetivo Festival...
John Vanderslice
John Vanderslice (born May 22, 1967 in Gainesville, Florida) is an American musician, formerly of MK Ultra but now performing with his own band. After mk Ultra broke up in 1999, Vanderslice wasted little time building a solo reputation. In 2000, he gained national media attention over his single Bill Gates Must Die after concocting an elaborate hoax in which Microsoft supposedly threatened legal action over supposed trademark violations (the disc had a similar etching to a Windows installation disc).
The Jezabels
The Jezabels are a band from Sydney, New South Wales that formed in 2007. We are a thing that came out of a few chance meetings at Sydney University. You see, Heather and Hayley had been playing music together for a while. Inevitably came the journey south from Byron - being their place of youth - to Sydney for a foray into higher education. Nik and Sam were studying at Sydney University also. And you know, for some reason you just meet people...
Psychonaut
There is more than one artist with this name. 1) Psychonaut was a ritual ambient project formed in 1997. Changed name (and musical style) to Psychonaut 75 in 2001. 2) Influenced by psychedelic experiences and meetings the trance-project Psychonaut was born. It consists of two members (Dr. Balser, Lothar H.), which started making music in the early 90's. They released some tracks on Trance-Compilations like Goahead, Planet Goa, Chakra etc.
Jann Arden
Recording artist, Jann Arden is a Canadian songwriter and performer. Arden produced 10 CDs, 17 top ten singles, earned a number of industry related awards and honors and also engages in acting, writing and charity work. In 2009 she released her latest album, Free. In February 2007, Arden released Uncover Me, a collection of Arden's favorite songs. Uncover Me debuted at #1 on the Digital SoundScan Chart and placed 3rd on the Nielsen’s SoundScan Chart. This was Jann's highest debut to date spanning her 15 year recording career. In April 2007, Uncover Me was certified Platinum in Canada.
