Maybe Myrtle Tyrtle formed in 2005 as a breath of fresh air amid an explosion of saxophones, guitars, fiddles originally influenced by The Doors, Bob Dylan, Led Zepplin and The Coral. They have a reputation for energetic live performance, adding hillbilly fiddling, reggae tainted bass and twisted brass to the "bum-chack" rhythm. Delivered with the "Spirit that runs through Gogol Bordello" and many bottles of Green Ginger Wine. The "Tyrtle" sound has been developing and new tracks have the feel of a pumping gig with the polished studio sound, a fine combination.
