The Yossarians

The Yossarians are a blues/folk/surf band based around Manchester. Tim Schiazza fronts the band although they tend to have no specific line up, in which they always receive help from friends in certain aspects of their music. After recently releasing their debut album, The Yossarians refuse to release it on any downloading format. Instead, they have decided to release the album on CD and vinyl only with a limited amount of copies available.

Artist Type:

Walter Trout

Walter Trout (born 1951 in Ocean City, New Jersey) is a blues guitarist and front man of Walter Trout and the Radicals. Trout's career began on the Jersey coast scene of the late 60's and early 70's that jump started the career of artists like Bruce Springsteen. Artist Type:

Two Timers

Two-timers are a Brighton based unique two-piece band which were formed in Paris in 1993. Consisting of powerful vocalist/drummer/harmonica player Sarah James (think Sam Brown/Julie Driscoll) and guitarist Gordon Russell (ex Geno Washington, Dr Feelgood) who segs from electric to acoustic, bottleneck to mandolin whilst footstomping an electrified suitcase (played like a bass drum), the Two Timers are a two piece band which sound like a fully-fledged four-piece and have formed a formidable live reputation across the UK and France.

Irma Thomas

Irma Thomas (b. February 18, 1941, Ponchatoula, Louisiana) whose only national chart hit in a 50 year career is 1963's "Wish Someone Would Care", is an enduring, Grammy winning, soul, gospel, rhythm and blues singer from New Orleans. Known as the "Soul Queen of New Orleans", she is a contemporary of Aretha Franklin and Etta James, but did not tour as relentlessly, and industry support and major commercial success eluded her for decades.

Artist Type:

The Cruel Sea

The Cruel Sea is a multi-ARIA Award winning 90s Australian rock/blues outfit. Originally an instrumental band focused on surf sounds, the addition of vocalist Tex Perkins (also a member of The Beasts Of Bourbon and a solo artist) proved an inspired decision. Combining the charismatic Perkins with the highly talented musicians created an unstoppable force through much of the 90s. Members of the band continue to perform, though with the exception of Perkins, most activity is fairly low key.

Artist Type:

Samuel James

From Wikipedia:
"Take the songwriting of Bill Withers and Tom Waits. Now combine that with the soul power and energy of James Brown. And the charisma of P.T. Barnum. Enter in the guitar playing of Leo Kotke and you're starting to get an idea of what Samuel James is all about. The last of the great, ...black, American t...roubadours, Samuel James is a performer of stunning singularity. He has irreversibly changed what it means to be a solo act.

Artist Type:

Kris Dollimore

"Kris Dollimore isn’t from Missisipi, Chicago, Detroit, Georgia, Tenesse, or even Texas. Kris is actually from a little place called Rochester in the county of Kent, England. But the haunting drive of his country blues, driven by the insistent stomp of his left foot is no less ‘authentic’. This music is real."
