The Wishbones started writing music together in the spring of 2007 surrounded by The New Forest, an ancient woodland and wilderness, situated on the south coast of England. Life long friends Sam, Phil and Alex have undoubtedly been influenced by the folklore beneath their feet and the ancient landscape surrounding them, which remains almost unchanged for a thousand years. The mighty oak trees provided timber for Nelson’s fleet and Alice Liddell, the inspiration for Alice In Wonderland, whom is buried in the local churchyard. An inspiring and traditional place for song writing lead the band to pick up a banjo, lap steel guitar and double bass culminating in a melodic modern bluegrass sound with hook laden riffs and three part harmonies.
Four years, two albums, and thousands of miles on the road, The Wishbones have released their third and most adventurous record to date…‘Forever Bound’. An album about the journey they have been on and the bond that unites people and places.
The Wishbones are proud to have shared stages with artists such as Ben Howard, Xavier Rudd, Ash Grunwald, The Martin Harley Band and many more. From Beach Break Live to the Fat Face ‘Rock Up and Sea Tour’ they have been gaining a devoted fan base around the UK and France. The Wishbones will continue the journey in 2012, touring throughout the UK, living out of their van ‘Sheila’ making friends and fans one gig at a time.
