Papercuts

Papercuts are a soft indie pop project centered around Jason Robert Quever, who was brought up in a commune in Humboldt County, CA. He traveled up and down the West Coast, eventually settling in San Francisco. Quever's work began when he used the apartment of a vacationing friend to record piano tracks for Cass McCombs. He has kept busy since, collaborating with such artists as Casiotone for the Painfully Alone, The Skygreen Leopards, and Vetiver. Two Papercuts albums arrived in the early 2000s: Rejoicing Songs(Cassingle USA) and Mockingbird (Antenna Farm).

Songs of Green Pheasant

Songs Of Green Pheasant is the work of Duncan Sumpner, a 30-year-old artist / teacher from Oughtibridge in Sheffield. His self-titled debut album was released on FatCat in August 2005, and drew widespread praise, gaining admiration from Devendra Banhart, múm, and Vetiver, and making many people’s lists as an outsider ‘album of the year’. What emerged on that record was something fragile, yet coherent and utterly charming. With a warm cloudy depth, sweet melodies and some gorgeous vocal harmonising, it was a set of simply beautiful, beautifully sung and played songs.

Barnaby Bright

Barnaby Bright are Nathan and Rebecca Bliss from Brooklyn, New York. When Nathan and Rebecca Bliss began work on their first full-length album, Wake the Hero, they hoped it would be the kind of record that would reach its listeners in a direct and honest way...that it would speak to the heart, not the head. The music of Barnaby Bright is meant for pondering, meant for stillness...meant for listening.

Daniel Lee Kendall

"Daniel Lee Kendall (DLK) did not plan for this. But it is the unexpected beginning to this story that is characteristic of DLK’s understated allure. It is quite simple really; after an evening spent drinking wine and enjoying the company of fine friends and fine musicians alike, Daniel penned a song. After lengthy toils in the seclusion of DLK studios (his bedroom) the best and only thing there was to do was share. Share with friends and strangers alike, these songs of hope and heartbreak. Listeners; prepare to be mesmerised, and taken on a very special journey indeed.

French for Rabbits

French for Rabbits are a dreamy alt-folk duo from Wellington, New Zealand. Their songs, often awash in nautically themed language, tell delicate stories of longing and regret. For the uninitiated, their music is reminiscent of dream-folk troubadours Marissa Nadler and Alela Diane or perhaps an acoustic Mazzy Star. Brooke Singer, who previously played in the much-loved Ragamuffin Children folk band and the shoegaze outfit The O’Lovelys, and jazz guitarist John Fitzgerald, formed the duo in 2011 after they both graduated from university.
