Shlohmo

L.A. native Henry Laufer, the 21-year-old producer better known as Shlohmo, is a lo-fi beat junkie and field-recording enthusiast, whose crackling, low-BPM compositions update Boards of Canada's filmstrip-soundtrack wooziness. An LA native, Laufer grew up listening to "stuff like DJ Shadow, Amon Tobin, M83 stuff with some sort of cinematic vision." He started making beats when he was 14, but "didn't really do it with any sort of purpose until I was like 17 or 18. That was also around the time he and his friends, already fans of Flying Lotus, discovered Low End Theory.

Sophia

There is more than one artist with this name: 1) Indie band Sophia includes The Flower Shop Recordings mainman and former The God Machine singer/guitarist Robin Proper-Sheppard. After the sudden and tragic death of schoolfriend and God Machine bassist Jimmy Fernandez, Proper-Sheppard began searching for a new musical outlet. Together with friends and fellow musicians from other Flower Shop bands Elevate, Ligament and Oil Seed Rape, Proper-Sheppard began working on the music that would become known as Sophia.

Burning Yellows

From HoZac Records: Portland, OR has been home to quite a few great bands in recent years (and has ever since the 70s, as evidenced by the 10-29-79 compilation, and the Northwest Passage film), and we're beyond excited to offer the debut single from our first band from the area, the sublime and apparitional Burning Yellows. From the second the heartbeat metronome fades in on the first song, an atmospheric VU-rhythmic throb encapsulates your senses and lures you into their reverberated world...

Colour

There are multiple artists on Last.fm with the name Colour: 1) A British math pop band.
2) An American shoegaze band.
3) The band later renamed Lemon Sun. 1) Colour is a four-piece math pop band from Kingston, United Kingdom. Vocalist Alan Welsh and guitarist George Reid met at college in the London suburb of Kingston. Delivering a sound filled with detail, harmonies, time signatures and tempo changes that shares the experimental English soul of a young Radiohead, Colour unwittingly found themselves driving a new wave of math pop from the low-key Surrey town.

Zond

ZOND are a maximum volume, minimalist soundrock group based in Melbourne, Australia. The Family Mahone

Playing not only Irish drinking songs but also English drinking songs and Scottish drinking songs, a whole range of musical idioms as you'd expect from a whole range of musical idiots, the members of the band have also pursued other careers. Under his stage name Mark Radcliffe, DJ has become a well known if little respected presenter on BBC Radio 2 where he is assisted by Christy. Charlie is also a star of the mixing desk and microphone with the aforementioned Corporation. With The Boy Lard, DJ and Christy also occasionally make up the legendary Shirehorses.
