With sound histories in the musical realm, brothers Joshua (voice) and Ben (synths) manifest digital and analogue ideas; one part divine inspiration, one part machine translation. Together they create grand poetic electronica, with its own future echo. On stage drummer Robbie makes his own waves, and the trio is complete.
There are multiple groups and artists performing under the name 'Elle': Elle is a Canadian-born, LA-based multi-instrumentalist, singer and songwriter. Songs from her first EP, "Insomnia" charted in the top ten in college radio. Through her Pasadena-based label, 5 Alarm Music, Desire has already had tracks placed in TV's "Missing", “The Black Donelly’s”, “Friday Night Lights” and “One Life To Live” and she performed numerous times on national TV.
Perfume is the name of at least two bands. Perfume is a three person j-pop/electro-pop group from Hiroshima who debuted locally in 2001 and nationally in 2005. In 2001, three 11-12 year old girls from an Artist School formed a group together in their hometown of Hiroshima. Consisting of Ayano Ōmoto (Nocchi), Yuka Kashino (Kashiyuka), and Ayaka Nishiwaki (A-Chan). Because all three members had the Japanese character (香) for fragrance in their names, they named the group Perfume. In 2002, they released two limited edition singles only in Hiroshima, called “OMAJINAI★ペロリ” and “彼氏募集中”.
Charlieboy is an experimental indie electronica artist based in Massachusetts. He started creating music in 2004 and has since written and recorded hundreds of tracks. In 2006, he moved to Ithaca, NY for school. The different atmosphere played an integral in his ever changing direction musically. ADULT. is an electro band from Detroit, Michigan that integrates vocals with drum machines, analog synths and electronic/punk elements. They started releasing albums in 1998 under the pseudonymn "Plasma Co." Initially, ADULT. members were unrevealed, but now it is known that the band consists of husband-and-wife Adam Lee Miller (formerly of Le Car) and visual artist Nicola Kuperus. The two members are also the founders of the Ersatz Audio record label.
There are three bands with the name Telex: 1. The Belgian synthpop group Telex was formed in 1978 by Marc Moulin, Dan Lacksman and Michel Moers, with the intention of "Making something really European, different from rock, without guitar - and the idea was electronic music." (Marc Moulin) Mixing the aesthetics of disco, punk and experimental electronic music, they released a stripped-down synthesized cover version of "Twist à St. Tropez" by Les Chats Sauvages.
